The Filipinos have strong sense of nationalism and sound patriotism embued with firm moral fiber. They embody a profound sense of righteousness and deep dedication in all endeavors they involve in, whether directly or indirectly. Filipinos should not be scolded for reacting negatively with the result of the Miss Universe 2023 due to evident anomaly and inconsistency.
Miss Universe El Salvador initially posted and published via its Instagram account about the final result of the Top 5 in which Michelle Dee being the candidate of the Philippines was in there. Sadly and doubtedly, it was removed in a few minutes and Ph was replaced by Thailand.
The speculations and the accusations are valid. Mistakes are normal; however, with this big international event, it’s questionable to post the result and later take it down knowing that the CEO of Ms. U is Anne from Thailand. Do not take away the liberty of the Filipinos to feel they are cheated and robbed of their expectations.
Firstly, pageant experts around the world express their sentiments asking why Ph was not in Top 5 knowing that MMD’s performance throughout the competition is excellent and stunning. Secondly, if Ms U organization looks for its VMGO, focusing being a transformational leader, MMD-Ph is more than qualified among other candidates as she won three awards: Fan Vote Winner, Voice for Change Gold, and Spirit of Carnival Award. Thirdly, her final gown, which is a basis for Top 5, is the most unique and most creative gown among the other candidates if we consult designers and aesthetics experts. It embodies details and depicts sense of ownership and embraces originality.
MMD was robbed of the opportunity to prove herself that she deserves to compete for the title. There is an abvious anomaly and inconsistency.
Filipinos, even the youngest kid in the family, are taught about the spirit of sportsmanship. They can definitely and absolutely accept defeat but not apparent anomaly, oddity and inconsistency.
Some claim that Ms. Nicaragua is the best. Filipinos have no ill-feeling toward Ms. N winning the title. There is no issue about that. What Filipinos fighting for is the evident inconsistency that happened.
Central Americans should not take Filipinos’ expression of sentiments as if they are trying to malign or disrespect the title holder. No! That is not what it is. People around the world should understand, in real sense of comprehension, that the inconsistency and anomaly are ringing and visible.
However, if Nicaraguans or Central Americans will still attempt to argue that Ms. N is better and more beautiful than Ms. Ph because they feel disrespected by the whole Filipino community, then Filipinos should invite your attention to the following: (1) What is the standard of beauty? Face, skin and body? As you believe Ms. N is better; (2) What is the vision and mission of Ms U org? Isn’t it transformation and solidarity overall? Who embodies it? Who is more outspoken and can even use the universal language better? You wanna say language is not a barrier to carry out an international vision and mission. Really? Who said that? Unless you experience it; (3) Is MMD even given the chance to hold the microphone to claim that Ms. N is better than her simply because she has the title? Oh come on. We all know that when MMD has that opportunity, you all know that she will nail it. That for sure, you are scared about it. The organizers if Ms U knew this fact.
Ms. Universe El Salvador expressed an apology about the mistake they did. Do not fool the Filipinos. They are not born yesterday. There is an obvious manipulation of the result only if you link and analyze everything.
The damage has been done. You cannot retract it.
Moreover, the CEO even pulled MMD before the camera in Mexico saying in front of the world that PH should move on? Really? That is so disrespectful! So lack of professionalism.
Explain the inconsistency and anomaly! Filipinos will never forget this!
Filipinos do not care if you see it otherwise. They know they were cheated from an opportunity in the middle of clear and crystal shits of selfish and personal gains from whoever is the active manipulator!
Filipinos are enemies of no one and a friend to all. That is evident in their culture in all aspects, especially in education, tourism, and international affairs.
Filipinos cannot just let it pass. Filipinos always stand for what is right.
